Uit je eigen stad CS | Local food, local workplace
There are those days when you are in a rush to the train, and before you hop on the train, you forget you have to do something important. Whether it is a forgotten email or last minute change to a presentation, then Uit je eigen stad is coming to the rescue. You can find them at two locations, but the one next to Rotterdam Central Station is by far my favorite. It’s perfect when you have a meeting or if you want to get last minute work done before you hop on the train. It looks small from the outside but big on the inside. When you walk in, you will notice the space dividers full of fresh herbs and other local products. If you are in for a long haul of work and you need a power socket, pick one of the comfortable but spacious booths on the right side. There is a small chance that you have to share, but the tables are big enough not to get in your table party personal space.
If you need a quick work fix and you have to run in and out, you can just pick one of the smaller tables or the window seats. Keep in mind that this place can get busy during the morning rush hour. I mean, everybody needs a coffee to get your day started. And in the back, they have a little market and the kitchen where they create these amazing dishes with vegetables from their farm location on the other side of the city. Uit je eigen stad translates to (roughly) eating locally from your town. So, everything from the products they sell in their little market to the lunch they serve it all comes from local companies.
